Youth Centers

Most of the young people actively participate in the youth centres. In most cases, we are closely related to salesians and to their educational method. Within our association there are seven youth centres. SMC stands for Salesian Youth Center, MC for Youth Center and MK for Youth Club. SMC Cerknica ( is the most skilled regional youth unit with over 200 young people gathering every week ) Dvanajstka - " 12 " ( it is a joint project of Skala, Mladinski ceh and Moste Social Center. The name is derived from the house-number where the center is located ) Cerklje ( former Yu-army military airport, now a youth club showing first signs of activity ) MC Kresnička-Sodražica ( various individual, rather independent activities are slowly forming into what we can now call a youth center ) SMC Maribor ( an old railway carriage has been turned into a kind of a shelter that is necessary for work ) SMC Rakovnik-Ljubljana ( beside the play-house and summer camps, it is also a center of sport activities for PGS ) SMC Sevnica ( in the Fall of 1997 the center has a playing room and a club ) SMC Škocjan pri Novem Mestu ( many programs are meant for changing the cultural and other forms of isolation this center is suffering from ) MC Vrtnica-Ljubljana-Kodeljevo ( the center with the most fluctuant past; a typical urban-city center that is changing according to the needs of the city itself ) |
