The sports movement PGS

In Europe, as well in Slovenia, we have been witnessing the professionalization of (formerly) amateur sports. This also causes great negative selection in the process of forming the elite and, consequently, disappointment of young people who did not show enough prospect to attract interest of the clubs or whose parents are not financially capable. Similar problems await young sportsmen in school leagues and even those involved in the sport-popularizing movement “Sports for everyone”. 
To revive the original idea of the sports which promoted participation and sports (also team-spirit), we joined the international association of sports movement of the Salesian youth. Apart from team sports they promote the animation of the group and the cultural - spiritual dimension of gathering. All the three elements are considered to be equally important and (should be) balanced. PGS has grown into a European association which is also a member of the Olympic committee. Within the last year the idea sprang from the European continent over to South America.
